I can hear the sighs of my friends already...
When the @caffetto gang didn’t play commander style all the time, I made this pretty sweet deck that uses an older mechanic that isn’t very common. As you’ve already guessed, that mechanic is infect.
Infect deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters to creatures and poison counters to players. The catch with the poison counters is that you acquire them from being attacked, and once you reach 10 you lose.
I always have fun while playing this deck and I hope you have fun realizing that this deck can win turn 3 or 4. I will point out a few cool combos as well :)

The picture above and below are pictures of the main work horses of this deck. Mostly low cost creatures that serve as the pawn pieces. Don’t miss Tangle Angler’s ability that makes target creature block it this turn if able. What that means is beef it up and make something block it and give it -1/-1 counters!
These are much needed in this deck. I like to call these the little helpers. Groundswell gives your creature a +4/+4 if a land entered your battlefield this turn. Vines of Vastwood can be kicked for 1 more mana and giving your creature +4/+4 and hexproof.
Imagine this. Your opening hand is 3 Forests, Ichorclaw Myr, Groundswell, Vines of Vastwood, and Carrion Call. Play a land on your first turn. Second turn play a second land and cast Ichorclaw Myr. Opponent doesn’t cast a creature (happens frequently). Third turn play a land, cast and kick Vines of Vastwood on Ichorclaw, and also play Groundswell on Ichorclaw. That is 8 poison counters on turn 3. Talk about sickening. 🤢
Opponent has a scary creature? No problem with Corrupted Conscience. Just take it from them and give it infect! And while you are at it, just beef it up with one of your Vines of Vastwood.
There are a couple of other cool cards in there, mainly a few counter spells to deal with lots of scary things. Oh wait! And Phyrexian Hydra! Go look in the decklist and see for yourself ;)
I am in the process of making a dinosaur commander deck and I am really excited about it. I will potentially post about the deck before I play a match with it and then give it another review after I get a few games done with it, who knows.
Thanks for reading!
