A surprising fact is turned out about the original Doom

One of the Doom developers uncovered a surprising information this week.

John Romero told that the Doomguy on the cover of the game is based on him.

According to Romero's story Don Punchatz the creator of the image is firstly hired a model to create the character. However the guy was so clumsy that Romero - the main developer of the game is - is simply took the place of the model to show what he really wants to exactly see on the cover.

The protagonist of the game is based on John Romero, the designer of the game.

The setting is turned out so well that the Doomguy was based upon the main game designer and the firstly hired model was in the role to make the demon who are hanging on the Doomguy's hand.

Punchatz obviously made the cover of the Doom by painting it, the created photos is only used as a sample. However it's still interesting after almost quarter century later to finally get to know who is really served as a model to create DoomGuy.

That's the trouble with the sites that give rewards for posting, a lot of people commenting for the sake of commenting even tho they don't have any knowledge or interest about the topic. Thanks for sharing the news. Big id Software fan, still playing Quake 3 / Live regularly ever since the time it was in alpha.
