Witcher 3 Wild Hunt review

Games never fully satisfy us and we are grousing about how they could be better and bigger and we are losing the meaning of gaming. CdprojectRed a company established in Poland offer us a game that can overtake titles of vast attitude and brings us the meaning of joy in gaming and especially as concerning the role-playing section of it.

The map is vast and after the end of the first part you are tossed in it and you feel like you are lost as you see the world unwrap on your feet. The story continues as it is a sequel of the previous 2 games of the franchise . You play as Geralt of Rivia , a witcher , a man trained to kill vicious monsters. The world is tearing apart as the war of two nations spreading on the land , witches are being hunt by the kings and the wild hunt has started. In this dangerous time Gerald is looking for his step- daughter Ciri and this is where you start the game.

The visuals of the game are glorious in every spec ,the real-time weather and the essence of time are making the game feel real and the stories of every npc that you are coming by, get under your skin. The drawback of all these is that the game is heavy. If you want to play it on all of its glory you need a lot more than an average pc or a console, luckily is available on ps4 and on xbox one.

The gameplay is immersive, Gerald can now jump, run, climb ,swim, dive and ride his horse that can call any time. There are fast-travel points scattered on the map for the times that you are not in the mood of exploration but you have to unlock them first. As for the fighting system, i loved it.You can use 10 different magic spells,2 in each class ,bombs , oils, potions, your precious swords and for the first time your crossbow and all of them easily with 2 different evade moves for you to choose.

At this point i would like to mention some issues that you probably find as you play.Horse spawning is a bit off , there are many times that it will spawn between things in the cities.Gerald stumbles upon mainly in the cities and while riding on trees. These issues occur due to the high detailed environment of an open world game. They exist but they don spoil the game. There is a change on how much can gerald carry and is a bit disturbing.Players can upgrade the saddlebags of the horse to carry more items but there is limitation and after some hours of playing it will be disturbing.Potions also replenish after resting.

The main story has too many quests but i expected more of it considering the plot,it feels that the story isn't polished enough to keep up with the value of the game as a total. There are times that it made me feel emotional or angry on taking my own decisions and this is one of the things that make this game king in this domain.Every deision matters and have an outcome on your game evolution and of course finally on the ending. The are multiple endings depending on your actions.

There are 2 more things that i would like to add before i conclude. The first one is a card game that you can play in the world of the witcher as it has an intense part in it .You enhance your deck by finding cards on quests, by buying them from the barkeepers or by defeating opponents. It is very interesting and i think that you would like it too.

The second thing that i would like to mention is that the game is huge ,there are the main quests, the secondary quests, the witcher contracts in which you hunt monsters by using your witcher senses (a power that makes your sight, hearing and olfaction more intense) and the treasure hunts. On top of all of that there is a massive world to explore. The game provides 130+ hours of gaming as i played 107 and i haven't finished all of my quests.

The game also supports ultra-wide screen monitors without a problem. As for the people coming from dark souls as i am ,don't play it on normal difficulty, give it a try on the last mode it would be a complete different game

Take it, play it, enjoy it !
