Good followers, today we go to space and futuristic strategy ... But first we start with a review of Wikipedia:

StarCraft is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The first game in the StarCraft series was released for Microsoft Windows on March 31, 1998. It is one of the best selling games for the personal computer with more than 11 million copies sold worldwide until February 2009. A Mac version OS was released in March 1999, and an adaptation for Nintendo 64, developed in conjunction with Mass Media Interactive Entertainment, was released on June 13, 2000. Work with the game began soon after the release of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness in 1995. StarCraft debuted at E3 in 1996, where it was unfavorably compared to Warcraft II, and, as a result, the project was completely revised and then exhibited to the public in early 1997, receiving a much more positive response. StarCraft has had its history adapted and expanded through a series of novels, the expansion pack StarCraft: Brood War and two authorized add-ons, (StarCraft: Brood War is also available for Nintendo 64 only with the Expansion Pack). The sequel to the game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, was released in July 2010, with its 2 subsequent expansions and a reissue called Starcraft: Remastered was released in August 2017, after the original version was paid (brood war expansion included) ) to be free. lets talk about the game.png

It is the second game of strategy and younger brother of Warcraft created by Blizzard, the best style "Age of Empire" with technology in between, where humanity has gone out into space to conquer other planets, terrans or humans face other races known as the Zergs (Alien mutations of the dinosaur type mixed with hive-minded parasites) that are invading the planets, destroying everything in their path and the Protoss (super-advanced alien race that can transpose their buildings instead of building it) that are responsible for eradicating zergs "purifying" the planets with fire and taking to the terrans in between, an interdimensional war divided into two sexy sagas.

The economy and resource management is the strength of the game are already limited, but you only have to collect two, gas and minerals, creating buildings to obtain and improve units, use the high ground, create defenses and avoid enemy ambushes.

The game has a very good plot in the campaign divided into the game "Starcraft" and a patch called "Starcraft; Brood War" worthy of a movie like Warcraft, I will make a quick summary of the previous events in Starcraft:

Starcraft Saga:

The Terrans led by Jim Raynor were released from the "Confederate Colony" for not agreeing with their way of dealing with things, joining "The Children of Khorjal" Led by Arcturus Mengsk, a rebel terrorist group and getting to know their new love Kerrigan, facing the zerg and the protoss for the first time. Discovering that his new ally is not who he thought and losing Kerrigan in the process.
In Starcraft Brood War, you have to face the "Federation of the Earth" who are using the zerg with devices to conquer the planets, having to work with the queen of the zerg and even with the protoss.

The Zerg led by the supermind are creating a new being using a terran girl (guess who) calling her the "Queen of swords", protecting at all costs the chrysalis where it is incubated and seizing all the planets including the home planet of the Protoss After the disappearance of the same, the queen began to use its allies for their plans of conquest, getting them to kill by means, I imagine that by its nature zerg and in Brood War finishing dominating almost all the planets.

The Protoss led by, Fight to survive along with their exiled brothers "The Dark Templar" coming to discover the supermind and therefore destroying it by sacrificing a great leader. In Brood War they fight again against the rest of monsters similar to the supermind and an artificial supermind created by the federation of the earth to control the zerg. Discovering in the end that the terrans were experimenting with protoss and zerg creating dangerous hybrids ...

Starcraft 2 Saga:

We learned that an ancient race had created the supermind and the protoss (they are brothers: O!) Called xelnaga and would return to stalking in this second part divided into 3 sequential games:

The Terrans and Jim Raynor with the fight against Arcturus Mengsk and the search for Kerrigan.

The Zerg to recover their queen that is a fundamental piece to avoid the Armageddon that the xelnaga would bring. Discovering the origins of her race and gaining more power and knowledge about her true enemy, since she has a personal revenge against Arcturus Mengsk.

The Protoss to reclaim their world, save all races from the destruction of their creators must try to unite with their other exiled brothers, get their technology forbidden and making uncomfortable alliances to recover their people from xelnaga control and their internal struggle for the khala (A kind of cosmic connection that keeps them spiritually united as one) that unifies them and betrays them.

pro, cons and conclusion.png

Pro:

The graphic improvement of the game with respect to its predecessor shows that the wait was worth it, the story is phenomenal and I really hope to make a movie of this excellent game, it is in my top 5 favorite games, the sound quality is very good , the game is demanding in its graphics but accessible for the majority of pc with video card, new technologies, simple games, multiplayer games, achievements and various types of difficulties show that this game has the seal of quality of blizzard .

Cons:

The construction of the buildings and units is very slow in the two sagas. Even though the story is divided into 3; not like in his predecessor that were 2, the improvements of technology in the races are no longer so notorious, only two or three improvements per game, unlike the "Brood War" that were many ...
The story has a very good ending but I leave to my mind an open ending (worth the redundancy) with an event that happened on a planet and I hope that of either a Starcraft 3 or a Starcraft Online as Warcraft Online.

Conclusion:

Starcraft 1 was the second strategy game I played in my childhood, I fell in love with its plot, its technological fantasy and its soundtrack. I waited for a long time for a second part and I cried when I finally had it in my hands and I played it, I waited patiently for the other games and when I finished it I felt that I closed an important part of my life with that game, I hope to clarify the good thing that were these games for me.
In the Blizzard page you can download the game of Starcraft 1 and Brood War for free and remastered, correcting some details with the colors, sounds and videos of the campaign, including new videos, so I recommend them with your eyes closed.
Only the first campaign of the game of starcraft 2 (Wing of Liberty) is free, the other versions have to be bought and already has its first DLC "Nova Operations".
