Starting today, the Lava Dome Pokémon Heatran is forging its way into Raid Battles. It's will be the last Legendary joining Raids this year and will stay in them through January 15. It's a Fire- and Steel-type Pokémon. Which makes Ground double super effective against it. My Groudon will surely be a great Pokémon to battle against it. Rhydon and Rhyperior have Ground-type moves for both fast and charged. So now feels like a great time for me to evolve my Rhyhorn all the way.
Here we go, time to evolve that Rhyhorn into Rhydon and immediately into Rhyperior. Wow Rhyperior sure is big! Covers the CP completely which I did not expect at all. Even if it attacks the CP remains hidden. When I change it to the side and let it attack the whole CP becomes available for an instant, but it starts covering part of it before a screenshot can be taken.
As I've been holding off on evolving my 100% Rhyhorn, it means I did not have a Rhyperior yet at all. So this evolution process has also registered it into my Pokédex now! It's the 2nd Pokémon I've evolved using the Sinnoh Stone. I still have a 3rd Sinnoh Stone, but no idea yet what I'll use it for. I suppose I'll just wait and see which of those evolutions will be more useful for me unless I get a few more Sinnoh Stones.
I took this screenshot when I evolved it into Rhyperior to be able to show its CP after evolving from Rhyhorn into Rhydon into Rhyperior. After evolving it I decided to immediately give it some power ups as well. I've been powering it up to where it costs 9000 stardust and 10 candy. Now it's just below my Groudon in CP. I'm lacking the candy to power my Groudon up further from this point. As I've powered most of my Legendaries to the point where they require 6000 stardust and 6 candy. I don't really feel like making my Rhyperior's CP higher than Groudon. So I'll either have to spend some Rare Candy on my Groudon or just wait a while longer before powering up my Rhyperior further.
I've made a team of my Groudon, Rhyperior, Kyogre and two Machamp now to use in battle against Heatran. I'll be looking forward to facing my first Heatran Raid!
Are you excited about these Heatran Raids? Did you assemble a team for fighting against it?
