I've been able to come across my first wild Combee this week. I currently don't really see any of the newly added gen 4 Pokémon appear on my nearby list. Presumably due to the Lunar New Year event, as most spawns are now the Pokémon that have an increased spawn this event. Thus it was really nice to come across that Combee. I was walking around with a friend when we came across it, and as the stats weren't that good we decided to trade it.
We were quite lucky, as this trade immediately resulted in us getting a Lucky Combee. First Combee and already get it Lucky as well. I got an 87% IV one out if it, which is a great improvement over the stats it had when we caught it! I suppose we can thank the Lunar New Year event for getting it Lucky too!
As the Lunar New Year event, celebrating the Year of the Pig, is currently active until February 13. Which provides us with double Catch XP, double XP for evolving Pokémon and an increased chance for a Pokémon to become Lucky when trading! As it's the Year of the Pig the main star of this event are Spoink and Grumpig, they've got their Shiny forms added to the game with this event too. Due to the Chinese calendar focusing on animals this event focuses on a Pokémon based on all 12 of those animals. Thus we currently have increased spawns for Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Ponyta, Electabuzz, Dratini, Mareep, Miltank, Torchic, Poochyena, Spoink and Buneary.
I hope I can find a Shiny Poochyena while the increased spawns are active!
