RESIDENT EVIL 2

After twenty-one years Capcom again allows us to immerse ourselves in a world controlled by a mysterious virus. Remake Resident Evil 2 doesn't just offer refreshed textures - almost everything has changed in the game. New locations have been added, the layout of the rooms has been changed, and even the story itself.

The game takes place in Raccoon City. Its inhabitants have been infected with a mysterious virus that turns all creatures into bloodthirsty beasts. The game offers two feature campaigns, one for Leon Kennedy and one for Claire Redfield. Leon is a young police officer who was supposed to start working in the police station, while Claire is a student who is looking for her missing brother (known from other parts of Chris Redfield). In order to fully understand the whole story and see the right end, you need to go through both campaigns.

The original Resident Evil 2 consisted of exploring more rooms, fighting or escaping from enemies and collecting limited supplies. The gameplay in the new game consists of the same elements, but their execution looks quite different. The most important change is the camera, which used to be static, in the new version it is hung behind the protoganist's back. The new way of operating the camera is much more comfortable, but due to this change of shots is much less horror than in the original.

In my opinion, it is an ideal Remake, offering a well-conducted story and a dozen or so hours of engaging entertainment at the highest level.
