A new update of Minecraft just released for the Xbox 1 this week. It came in the form of a new version of the game. This new updated version is completely free to XB1 players who either already own the digital copy or have played the disc version at 5 hours in the last year.
Now what exactly does this new version contain? Well, we get some new features like displayable coordinates, new blocks, ravines, and a parrot, among other things.
But three new features truly jump out at me:
1. A new marketplace that allows you to purchase maps, skins, texture packs, and possibly mods*
2. The ability to rent servers that run 24/7.
3. And the eventual ability to cross platform with Minecraft: Pocket Edition (Android/iOS only), Windows 10 Edition, Xbox One Edition, Gear VR Edition, and Nintendo Switch Edition. Now not every platform is going to have cross platform play enable from the start.
This is a big step in gaming. Question is, will Playstation finally get on-board with cross platform play?

*This is pure speculation on my part as they are an integral part of the community. Also there is a slot for "Behavior Packs" upon loading up a map, but no option to acquire them as of yet.
