If you haven't had the chance to play this fun little mobile game yet, I am going to tell you why you should. I was pleasantly surprised when I first downloaded this on my phone, so much that I did not stop playing for a few hours and kept coming back to it over the course of a month.
Night of the Full Moon is a beautiful RPG card game which puts you in the shoes of Little Red Riding Hood as she tries to find her missing grandmother. You venture into the woods at night where you encounter different monsters, chests, fairies and witches, each with different mechanics and rewards.
You start with a small premade deck and at every turn you get to choose between 3 of these encounters. You can even discard some of them entirely, but keep in mind that your choices shape up both your deck and your character, which in turn determine the final boss that you get to face, based on your reputation and courage levels. There is also a talent tree that you can slowly but surely level up as you acquire stars from the bosses you defeat. The talents offer small but not insignificant bonuses to help you in your future ventures.
Pros:
- Offers high replayability as different choices bring different endings.
- Easy to understand mechanics.
- Can be quite challenging sometimes.
- Beautiful graphics and great voice acting.
- Can be played for free to some extent without any ads and has a fair price for the full version.
- Doesn't require an internet connection.
Cons:
- Can be quite hard in the beginning, until you get the hang of it.
- It is possible to get stuck in your journey, not being able to pass any of the available encounters, in which case you have to start over.
Considering everything I'd say this game deserves a rating of 9/10. But don't take my word for it, experience it for yourselves.
