Drill for oil like it's 1899! Turmoil offers players a visually charming, tongue-in-cheek take on the simulation genre inspired by the 19th century oil rush in North America.source
Starting turmoil
Upon starting your campaign you will be asked to select you character, each character starts with the same amount of money and stats. Its your personal preference on which character looks best to you. You have $20,000 to start with, earn money by drilling up some oil and selling. Money can be used to buy upgrades and leasing out land.
Basics on how oil farming works
- When bidding for a piece of land for farming oil you have choose which one has the probability of giving the most return on the investment. Looking at the land that was bought in the previous seasons of farming you will see a number the higher the better. So when seeing a high number you want to buy a piece of land closest to it, but most of the time the other characters will out bid you on the property.
- Upon arrival of this property you will need to put down some dowsers to locate some oil. Once the dowser has found some oil he will wave at you, then you need to set down an oil rig. Once the oil rig is down you need to put some pipes in the ground to pump out some oil. The oil can be right under the surface or really deep in the ground. When oil is flowing through the pipes you need to put down some wagons so you can transport the oil to the buyer. There are two buyers one on the left and one on the right. There prices fluctuate up and down on both so its up to you to sell at the best price. You can also put down some silos to hold oil.
- The seasons grow longer as the game progresses, but the seasons starting off are only about 5-10 minutes long.
- After your done you collect your earning and see how much you made over you competitors.
- As seasons go by more and more shops will open. In these shops you can purchase upgrade so make you can make you oil rigs more effective. You can upgrade all types of things to get the oil out of the ground faster. As seasons go by the difficulty of getting the oil out the ground will increase. From adding rocks and gas pockets.
