When I bought this game I was expecting another Mario adventure with an abstract twist. What I didn't expect to get was a sequel to Super Mario RPG, and thats exactly what I got. Paper Mario is an RPG adventure with the cast of Mario and all their likenesses. This is not a conventional platforming Mario game, but a turn based battle Mario adventure. This game is truly a charm and I am super stoked to talk about it today. Check out some gameplay footage from the game:

Battle System

This game throws you right into the action and adventure.You will notice the full explorable world with 2D characters in a 3D atmosphere. The game will trigger a cutscene and you go into a first fight. Showing you how the battle system will work and this is where the game will catch your attention. Whereas it is a turn based RPG game... You will be hitting certain buttons and completing certain puzzle challenges in order to complete your moves with a vengeance. This was the first time I had seen this in an RPG game and it added an element that you see in games today such as South Park and the stick of truth.

The World

The worlds are colorful and fun. You will be interacting with a multitude of characters and fight alongside some awesome and unique companions. The worlds are all very fun to explore and you will want to continuously battle to level up your character because you can gain more moves and grab some awesome gear, much like traditional rpgs.

The Music

The soundtrack has likenesses from the Mario series that you will recognize among other new tunes that are amazingly catchy. This, as usual with Mario games, has a great soundtrack that will ultimately be stuck in your head forever. They are known for this in Mario games, and this is no exception.

OVERALL SCORE: 8/10 A TRUE CLASSIC

The story is fun and has a lot of humor. I had a fun time playing this game and it takes me back every time I pick it up I recommend you check this one out if you are into RPG games, because this one is definitely unique. Even if it doesn't seem like something you would be into, give it a shot because I did and I will NEVER regret it. This game goes down in the books for me, and it deserves and honorable mention.
