I never heard of Salty bets. It is a dice game with monsters battling.

No dice, it is where they have characters fights through a Mugen engine and everyone bets against eachother to when salt to make bigger bets. It was really big in its day and probably still has thousands of people watching and betting on the tournaments.
Some aspects seem different from this. In salty bets it livestreams the fights and everyone picks who will win. Then it shows you the odds of everyones bets against eachother. They have tiers of fighters and have days where they let people pick who fights eachother. It was really fun to waste some time and have a good laugh..
