Well ... if previously I discuss one of the legendary game Pepsiman, then for this opportunity I want to share a review that is not less interesting than the game. Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return is a platform game developed by Whoopee Camp and published by Sony Computer Entertainment which was released in Japan on 28 October 1999 in North America on 31 December 1999 and in Europe on the 16th June 2000.

STORYTomba is a young man living in a peaceful country. One day, Zippo's friend Tomba discovered a mysterious letter addressed to Tomba with a letter saying that the boyfriend Tabby had disappeared suddenly. Feeling anxious, Tomba jumped into the sea trying to find her, but in vain because Tabby was not there. Then Tomba and Zippo try to come to a fishing village and there they meet an old man named Kainen and asks Tabby questions, but Kainen knows nothing about it.

Next from there they try to get to Coal Mining Town where Tabby's house is, but back in vain because Tabby is also not there. But when Tomba began to lose hope, he met with Gran who is one of the inhabitants of Coal Mining town. Gran said that if she ever saw Tabby walk to Kujara Ranch using a trolley. Tomba also remember something and immediately rushed to where they usually visit. However, Tabby was not there, but a trolley worker told him that Pig Evil had kidnapped Tabby as he tried to protect a gift Tomba had given him that Baby Evil wanted to grab. On the other hand Gran again tells Tomba if Pig Evil has cursed the whole continent. Gran also gave Tomba a red that might help Tomba to capture them.

Tomba adventure begins with trying to restore the whole continent from the curse. He restored the mood of Coal Mining City from the curse by capturing the Flame Pig of Evil. Then restore Kujara Ranch from eternal snowfall by catching Evil Ice Pig. Heal the solitude of Donglin Forest by catching Evil Ghost Pig. Lifted the curse of Circus City that has turned its citizens into pigs by catching Earth Evil Pig. And lastly healed the Water Temple from the continuous rain by catching the Evil Water Pig. But when all these Evil Pigs have been caught, their leader the Last Devil Pig appears and tells Tomba to find his nest.

Tomba and Zippo also rushed to the trip to find the Last Devil Pig in the underground area of ​​the Coal Mining City, where the place of the Last Illegal Pig freeze time in order to stop the business of Tomba. And there the fight ended with the capture of the Last Devil Pig. Not only that, Tomba and Zippo also finally find Tabby in the Last Evil Pig's nest. Because they had all ended, they had a party at Tabby's house and Kainen was soon to come with a gift of a monkey suit that he wanted to give to Tomba that could be used in every adventure.

REVIEWThe first time I was acquainted with this game series could be practically about 14 years ago. At that time I was intrigued by the appearance of the illustrated picture of wild pink-haired boy who glance reminds me of Tarzan figure. So... it can be said this Tomba 2 game is my first experience playing RPG platformer in the console is gray Playstation. Beside the very interesting thing, Tomba 2 does not require you to play first Tomba first so you understand the story.

We just sit sweetly staring at the screen, while playing the PlayStation joystick in hand. Because in Tomba 2, it is narrated that a swarm of evil pigs from another dimension is invading a land inhabited by our protagonist Tomba. The evil pig who turned out to be the incarnation of the devil has spread the curse throughout the land of the land. Well ... here it all depends on Tomba who ventured across five areas to catch the pig devil with his magic bag.

In gameplay, Tomba 2 has a fairly dark atmosphere outside of its colorful visual appearance. So... I don't think that Tomba two is a game designed only for children. Because to be honest, here you will see some pretty horrific themes of death and horror. On the other hand, at some level we will be presented with the arrangement of music and environment that I think is very interesting. Especially at the level of Donglin Forest and Water Temple that will make our hair stand when we heard it.

As long as your action captures the six pig devil leaders, here you are given more or less the same control as a typical platformer game. D-pad button for moving and face buttons to interact during your adventure. Because the developer himself includes a few elements of RPG through the narrative quest and inventory settings therein. Through this inventory, you can use some items and a Tomba outfit to pass through some game situations, such as squirrel costumes to float over the air or a special outfit so that Tomba can swim at some level. So ... with the inventory equipment and the addition of quest that makes the game Tomba 2 seem very interesting in my opinion.

CONCLUSIONIn my opinion, although the adventure is not very long, but this game has managed to give us more room to explore some of the hidden things in every level. But make no mistake, although the five levels sound a little, this game can make us busy to pace around here during adventure. As an example of a quest that requires us to give a banana to a fussy monkey, but after getting the banana the monkey even ask for bananas so we must go to the town of the miners to put it into the oven. In terms of graphic display, the quality of texture Tomba 2 is not as good as other platformer game releases such as Crash Bandicoot, it's because there are some textures that seem rude here and there. But for myself, it is not a big deal because we can still enjoy the adventure with a comfortable frame rate until the end of the game. Also from the look of the sound and the music itself, I admit if this game has a good sound arrangement and enough to make us will remember this game all time.
