One of my biggest weaknesses (because of addiction) is the games of the shooter genre that once again dominate this post, in this case one of the most spectacular Arcade games that in the past did not stop playing both alone and cooperative, the great 1941 Counter Attack, are many sequels that the franchise CAPCOM of this game has been released which we will gradually break down over time. I remember that in the room Arcade could not avoid putting a chip in the 1, from beginning to end was a total challenge, I really consider it a legendary game to which I dedicate this little space to remember those times of yesteryear.
Developed by the great company CAPCOM, 1941 Counter Attack is a vertical movement shooter type game that simply aims to eliminate everything on screen, protecting the integrity of our aircraft from all enemy attacks, its design is simple but very well done, the animations in the directional movements are quite good, this also applies to all the enemies that attack us.
Each of its levels have a very good artistic finish, clearly noting that we are moving from one level to another, this is excellent because in this way does not make a simple repetitive game, also animations in their environment are clearly noted, one of the things I liked was when the submarines came out of the water at level 2, as the water sprites looked to me at that time it looked fabulous.
Here we have only one plane available but we can choose several types of shot in full play, each has a range and attack power, the most powerful being a laser beam whose range is practically towards a single target but its damage was very high , apart we could leave the trigger button to charge a high power shot, it also varies depending on the weapon we have at the time, but if we are in trouble and we have many enemies around we can use our special attack which dodges the attacks for a few seconds and eliminates all the enemies that are around us, it is worth mentioning that we can not abuse it as it is very limited, we can recover it if we grab the "Pow" weapon.
One of the things that falls very well in this game is that we have a shield bar which will increase depending on the range that we get in the missions, this allows us to receive several shots, this way we can enjoy more of our beloved card and not lose a life instantly, once the shield is finished, an alarm will sound which indicates that one more shot and our plane will be shot down, if we are lucky and we get the power "Pow" (the one mentioned above) we will recover a part of the bar, something that makes the game more durable.
Something that draws attention enough is that, despite being an Arcade game, its duration is quite long, has a total of 6 levels and as expected in each we will face a boss who are large and highly resistant, sometimes make attacks that seem to be impossible to dodge, I think it has a very good difficulty, but it gives you very good tools to be able to comfortably enjoy it.
If it seems very complicated, we have the option to play it in a cooperative way with a partner, this makes the game a little easier, although equally not to trust, simply keep the reflexes active because in situations the amount of bullets and enemies that need to be avoided are really impressive.
The melodies are simply epic, their soundtrack is my favorite in the Arcade world, each level has its own song which makes it really varied in its musical aspect, my favorite song is the first level, it makes me fully active to kill all those planes XD, their sounds make you understand that you are in front of one of the most legendary shooters, simply excellent quality, in no time you get bored listening to the plane shooting and blowing up all the enemies.
1941 has been one of the most iconic games of the past, its playability, difficulty, music and graphics makes it an excellent piece in any Arcade room, the possibility that gives you to enjoy the game experience with a partner is just perfect, has been one of my favorite shooter games so I've played it thanks to the wonderful emulators, if you like these types of games and you have not had the opportunity to explore some 1941 there are enough alternatives for you to enjoy it, I guarantee you do not you will be disappointed.
