Galactic 123 is going to be a sci fi role playing game (RPG) that is going to be released for Windows/Mac OS/Linux. Afterwards, possibly on Android also. It will follow the adventures of three space pirates.

These are screenshots from July 25, 2017

  • Fast turn based combat system.
  • Enemies are seen on maps, so no random encounters.

Galactic 123 is currently a work in progress (WIP). Expected release date, December 2017. Release date is subject to change, though.

That looks pretty cool are you using an rpg maker ?

Yes, I'm using RPG Maker MV. Based in HTML5/Javascript, it allows to export games to multiple platforms. I'm also using plenty of custom resources and scripts to give it a more unique feel.

Thats awesome! Did they add the multiplayer support they were working on ?

Not that I know off. Although the fact that RPGMaker works with HTML5 and Javascript certainly makes it possible to code something and interact with server side languages such as PHP. Realtime multiplayer? Dunno. A shared universe where everyone's actions influence others? Sure.

So does RPG Maker use Javascript just like that? Like a web page? Just curious...

The latest version for Windows, RPG Maker MV, does :) In fact, with some clever scripting, you can make these games communicate with a webpage. :)

Maybe connect with some existing game?

I suppose it is not impossible but... Why do it? It could only lead to copyright issues and such...

Thanks for the reply! Sounds interesting! :)

I remember using an RPG Maker but it was not JavaScript. Also, the graphics were very basic...

How many versions of RPG Maker are there?

Well, for Windows, there are four: RPG Maker 2003, RPG Maker XP, RPG Maker VX Ace, and RPG Maker MV. There are other versions too, like the old RPG Maker for PlayStation 2, and the new RPG Makers for iOS and RPG Maker Fes for Nintendo 3DS. So I have counted seven. However, I'm pretty sure there are quite a few other RPG Makers besides these, because I read somewhere that some of the earliest versions came in the late 1980s.

I think I once messed around with RPG Maker XP. In reality its my nephew who got it.

I see. That one had an interesting artistic style.

So MV is the newest?

Will this game be like Star Wars?

Like Star Wars? How so?

You know, like a galaxy in full war and such

You mentioned there are several planets... Must visit them all to beat the game?

Nope. Halfway through the game, it sort of becomes "open world". Basically you need to find a specific item so you can proceed to the final dungeon. There will be more than one way to obtain said item so there is no predefined path.

Sounds like an interesting concept, I hope it turns out interesting

That is actually an interesting idea.

Know what would be cool? Adding space anacondas :)

Fun ideas :)

Add fictitious languages that players have to somehow figure out to get extra stuff!

Hmmm... But don't get too crazy.

Don't worry, maybe as a minor sidequest, if at all.

A Klingon sidequest? :P

Maybe a bit, as some sort of side quest or puzzle to unlock some cool item. But not beyond that (not required to beat the game).

Clever puzzles are almost always a good addition in an RPG. But please no random encounters / battles or any other distracting elements while solving puzzles.

Cool!

qavan pa'! be'nI'puqDaj toblu'pa' ruch Daghaj!

I can speak Google Translate too :P

OK OK you got me ;)

Busted ;)

;)

Nice Game......................

And add crewmembers!

There is a spaceship that kind of acts as a central hub. Maybe will add extra characters and stuff there beyond the main cast.

Nice....so would be interested to be part of the beta :) and please follow and upvote my posts if you like them

Sure! :)

Guess I can give it a go too
