Destiny 2: New Patch Get us Ready for Forsaken

The new Forsaken DLC for Destiny 2 is now here and loaded into our consoles although we cannot still play it. After hours of downloading I finally got to see the awesome title screen and of course the even better music behind the latest expansion. With the download, Destiny move into version 2.0 and with it a couple of changes to get us ready for the game on September 4th.

I was immediately happy to visit my vault and have 200 additional spaces that I was in need of. While most gear will now be available in collections at the launch of Forsaken, I am still holding on to see what the community finds as to the new Meta with all the changes now live with this patch. For example, weapon slots have now changes as well as adjustments to the overall sandbox for PvP. Lastly, mods will also change the way weapons perform so now having additional space will allow me to hold on a bit more in case I have the next best gun in the game to use for the new expansion.

The Director screen or map has now changed as well and while it looks great and organized, now it takes a bit of effort to select the tower location. Many have complained on the forums but it is just something to get used to. Also, Cayde-6 is now gone from the Tower and the Flashpoints have been replaced by the NPC of the planet that is hosting the current Flashpoint with a tracking tool that is pretty good to monitor progress with. No Flashpoint progress can be achieved with Lost Sector and Adventures so it is no longer necessary to only grind public events for its completion.

While there is still some mechanics to get used to, I continue to be very excited with what Bungie is trying to do to revive the franchise moving forward. With Forsaken now only days away, we will soon find out if they have been able to adjust to the benefits and wants of the player base.
