With the countdown to the launch of the new Destiny 2 DLC, Forsaken, down to days now, I thought I would share what I am doing to prepare for the update. My thought is to ensure that whatever we could do to prepare to get an edge would be great! There are also a number of things that will be changed regarding weapons and loot that may impact these items after the launch (and probably after the expected update on August 28). So here is a list of tasks I am doing to prepare:
- Given the elimination of Ikora Rey’s Meditations, I am turning in all of the Vanguard Research Tokens in inventory as they will not return and be eliminated from our inventory.
- Trials of the Nine will be absent from the next season so I am also turning in all those tokens as well
- Playing some Prestige Raid Lairs to get level 405 weapons to be at the highest potential power level starting the new update
- The expected changes to the weapons and modification systems will no longer permit you to change elemental types so a good idea would be to get multiple version of your favorite weapon to have one for each elemental type. However, have in mind that Bungie has announced that some will be locked to a specific element such as the Ikelos weapons locked to Solar. Also, some will be changed to Kinetic and will no longer have elemental damage.
- While glimmer has never been in shortage for me, a trick to have some on reserve is to buy a couple of the exotic ghost shell from Lord Shaxx (Crucible vendor) and store them in your vault. Each is worth 5,000 glimmer when you delete.
- Hang on to all tokens and materials to have the ability to turn in when you hit the soft level cap once you complete launch missions.
Hope this helps for those of your that expect to continue the grind in Destiny like me! Excited to start this new journey in the Destiny universe so look forward to continue sharing my experience with the new content.
Thanks!
