Last of Us Part 2!! I cannot wait for this!
The best game that I played in recent years was The Last of Us. I found myself playing this game on the PS4 when they released the remastered version, and what an fantastic find this was.
This game was seriously amazing. There wasn't a single thing about it that I didn't love.
- The story line was intense
- The voice acting was incredible
- The cut scenes were always amazing and actually well worth watching
- And finally, the online multiplayer was insanely fun and challenging
I spent countless hours playing this game, and in all honesty, it was the first game where I actually wanted to play the single player campaign. In most games, I jump straight into the multiplayer given that you normally find the fun and excitement there.
But in Last of Us, the single player campaign was so intense, gripping, exciting and engaging that I never wanted it to be over. I loved that campaign so much. I even played it through twice over before stepping into the multiplayer campaign.
And then I spent months on end playing multiplayer, developing strategies and tactics to defeat the opposing team and learning the quirks of all the weapons to ensure that I was certain to survive (at least most of the time).
This was one of the rare games where I wasn't a complete noob. Unlike Fortnite, where I just suck.
And now we have Last of Us Part 2 coming out soon!
We still don't have a definitive release date but it looks like we'll be seeing the next instalment in 2019. I cannot freaking wait for this release. Check the trailer below. Part 2 looks like it will be just as gritty, intense, and as dark as the first. The main difference being that the main character is Ellie with Jake taking more of a back seat given his advancing years. The game is set 5 years on from the first game, so Ellie is older, wiser and kinda ripped.

What should we hope for in Last of Us 2?
Personally, I'm hoping the single player campaign is just as insanely gripping as the first instalment. But, it's rare for a sequel to be as incredible as the first as most of us know.
I'm hoping that the multiplayer is more open world, similar to Fortnite and PUBG. A zombie apocalypse environment would be amazing in this game format. Will we see this? Who knows, but it could be incredible if we do.

And while I expect the single player campaign will be incredible. The one thing that will keep me playing this game for months on end would be a Fortnite or PUBG style multiplayer where it's a real battle for survival against a horde of zombie and human enemies. That would be insanely fun.
