in gaming •  6 years ago

We haven't heard much about FromSoftware's next title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, since its reveal at E3 2018. Thankfully, Gamescom 2018 has our backs and we now know the games official release date and information about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's Collector's Edition.

Though only revealed a few months ago, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be in the hands of gamers on 22 March 2019. Alongside this news, the Collector's Edition for FromSoftware's upcoming title has been officially revealed. The Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Collector's Edition will include:

  • Steelbook case containing the full game
  • A 7" Shinobi statue
  • An art book
  • A physical paper map
  • A digital soundtrack
  • Three replica Sengoku-era game coins
Though the Collector's Edition does come with a lot of items that are expected, the inclusion of an awesome statue, replica coins, and a paper map are pretty tantalising. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

It has been over three years since FromSoftware unleashed the fantastic Bloodborne onto the PlayStation 4. Fans of the developer and the SoulsBorne series having been anticipating the next title from the now legendary developer. Many gamers theorised that FromSoftware's next title would be a sequel to Bloodborne, with some going as far as combing through the initial Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice teaser trailer for any connections to that title. It came as a surprise when what we were shown at E3 2018 was a completely new game.

Though it wasn't Bloodborne 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice seems to include the intense combat from the Dark Souls and Bloodborne titles, but in a completely new and interesting time and location. Whether this title will fit snugly within the SoulsBorne genre of games, or if it will carve out its own niche, is yet to be seen. Judging by the excellent gameplay in FromSoftware's previous titles, I think we are in capable hands.
