Destiny 2 – Review/Opinions on Crucible (PvP)

in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello, today I would like to review Player vs Player part in Destiny 2. This game mode has changed so much, because instead of 6v6 it is now 4v4. My first impressions were bad. However, I played lot of it these days and it is not as bad as I thought it would be.

You can jump in to the crucible (PvP), pretty much after a few missions, which is nice. You will be lower level than everybody else and that might scare you. However it doesn’t matter, you can kill pretty much everything no matter of what equip you have or what level you are, and that is a good thing. On the other hand, there are some weapons better than others, but this „problem“ has every multiplayer game.

There are 8 maps and 5 game modes.

Game modes:

Supremacy – Kill Confirmed. After you kill an enemy, he drops a tag and you have to pick it up to increase score

Clash – two words, Team Deathmatch

Control – Classic 3 capture point (King of the Hill), nothing special.

Countdown – Do you remember Search and Destroy? This is it, you have to plant or defend a bomb, I quite enjoed this mode and 4v4 factor is really good there.

Survival - Each team only has a total of eight lives. If your teammates dies, your team lose a life. The first team to run out of lives loses.

Is it worth to buy this game, just for PvP? No, there is plenty of better PvP games. Is it fun? Yes, but i have a problem with difficulty, it is too easy for my taste, there is a small skill gap. Special abillities are important, you have to save them for the right moment, because they are game changer, but you will figure that out quickly. Just do not expect complex gameplay, with abillities like Overwatch, it is more Run and Gun, Call of Duty style of gameplay and if you are this time of player, you will enjoy it.

is it better than destiny1 or not? i was so disappointed from the first part...greetings!

The game overall is better than the first, by quite a bit. You won't run out of things to do for quite sometime, and once the grind sets in, it's varied enough that it won't get stale too fast.

PvP, though, is a little disappointing right now. The 4v4 is fun, but you can't help but miss the 6v6 mayhem. You also have no control over what modes you jump into, just casual and competitive playlists. I'm sure they'll open it up a bit with time -- they added a Trials of the Nine mode during this past weekend -- but it's not as generous as I'd have liked to see.

That said, it is a ton of fun to play competitive in a squad in Destiny 2, more so than the first. You can buddy up with your clan or find a fireteam to run with, and you'll feel much more tactical as a group of four in those scenarios.

Totaly agree with you

I am planning to do full review, because it is really big topic. I have been disappointed with first game as well, their business system is really bad for us (customers) and they promised us more, than they actually did. However i bought Destiny 2 just out of curiosity and i have to admit, it is just pure fun, much more better then the first one, but i would not recommend it to you.
