Wizard of Legend: Nintendo Switch - Game Review

in gaming •  6 years ago

Wizard of Legend is an interesting little dungeon crawler with many rogue-like elements. Like any other rogue-like game, it is easy to pick up and hard to master. You'll find yourself playing for hours trying to master all of the mechanics that this game has to offer. It does support local coop but no online play.

The combat system for this game is really something special. Movement is quick and keeps you on your toes as you cast spells all over the map. There are over 100 unique spells to explore (not bad for a 2 person dev team). However, there are some downsides to the combat system such as the limited number of unique enemies and the finite number of bosses.

On the side of replayability the game will have you interested for a while, but once you complete the game a few times you feel like you've done everything. The lack in variety of unique bosses makes every playthrough feel the same as the last. It is definetly a fun game at the start but doesn't feel like "endless fun" which many rough-like games are known to have such as The Binding of Issac.

Considering the price, I would definetly pick up this game if you have the spare dollars hanging around. The game really is fun and does feel like money well spent. I give the game a Hey, that's pretty good out of 10
