Roughly two weeks ago I announced that I decided to make a Steemit themed game, more specifically a platformer. And today I do have a little update on how the first steps of the development are going. If you don't want to read the whole article, there is a TL:DR in the end.

So let's get straight going with the information. First of all you call can see the newly designed logo in the first image of this article, but if anyone is interested, here you can see it without the logo text. I would also like to publicly thank @epicdesigns for making this logo.
Now onto a bit of information about the development itself. Me and my friend (who will soon start posting on Steemit as well) finally decided on the platform we will use to develop our platformer and we decided it will be Unity. The reasons for that is the fact that he is familiar with that tool already and it is user friendly enough for me, who is a completely noob when it comes to coding, to use it.
At this moment, we are planning for the game to be released as a free to play game for Android, iOS and as a Windows PCs.
Right now the basic assets and prefabs are still being created, but soon I will be able to post screenshots of a few levels, but those will most likely not be used in the final version of the game as they will be used primarily for inside testing.
Okay, we got through the information that I wanted to present and now it's time to showcase new assets that I created.
Let's start with the huge redesign of the ground textures I decided to make to make the game even more Steemit themed:
Now we have a few completely new platforms: Two that will be neighbors to the lava and spikes and then a flying platform.
And now the actually exciting stuff! The characters you will get to play as: A Minnow, Narwhal, Dolphin, Orca and a Whale
Sorry that Narwhalman has a different background, but he looked weird with a white one

TL:DR

It's good to see the community engaged. The game looks interesting and fun. I expect the next updates to see the "power-up" as well as the game coins. It would be interesting to have to collect a number of coins to unlock the other characters, as if they were STEEM POWER. Congratulations :D

The characters are essentially the power-ups, at least the's the plan for the moment. And yes, you will be collecting coins and upvotes to level up to a "better" character, that's exactly the plan ;)
