After Far Cry 3 I was sure that the next game in the series will be awesome, and to be honest the game didn't disappointed me. Adding vertical dynamic in the game - climbing - new weapons, and different ways to approach new objectives - added more diversity to gameplay.
On the other hand - Ubisoft's fixations - it feels like the Assassin's Creed with modern weapons - climb on top of the higher building to reveal the landscape is not fun anymore. I'm sure that a mobile phone was more useful than caring a DSRL and they could simply use GPS on the mobile, even adding more features.
Ok, two more aspects and I'm done with criticism - first is the lack of attitude of the main character, he never says anything, always taking every mission - as per progression he starts already with all the skills, in Far Cry 3 the main character develops quite well, here ... nada. Last thing that I wanna complain is the ubisoft's vision on gameplay - sure it's fun to kill all the guys in red, but how about a stealth, smart, non lethal way to finish the game. I think that will add more joy and versatility to the gameplay, sure I don't have anything against videogames violence, but for me it will rise the difficulty and would add value.
Now the good parts, I would say that it plays ok on older cards, I was playing with my 750Ti and it runs well, sure now on 1060 it's better, adds details, it's a good and very optimized PC port, as all games should be.
The game has minimum amount of bugs, nice graphics, explosions and adding other characters, this game is amazing. The mountains, the way you get to the next objective - a glider, a bike, a small helicopter ... - you have sure a lot of options and they are well thought out.
I had something bad to say about Mr Pagan but after giving him a second chance wile finishing the game second time, I will take away my criticism, sure it's not Vaas but I will give him credit for the fun, rage, sarcasm, irony and craziness.
It is the second best Far Cry game - 3rd was the best - but I really hope the the 5th will not disappoint, Ubisoft please make Montana as fun as Himalayan mountains.
