Hey guys,
Gaming has always been an important part of my life, therefore I started to develop games on my own several years ago. I'm really enjoying working on games, however my motivation always faded as fast as the speed of light.
Therefore I started a new project, a mobile game that could be done in several weeks and provide a simple, however fun and challenging gameplay. Also to keep up with motivation and also maybe even kind of push my self, I decided to update you guys (not sure whether daily or weekly)
Codename: SpeedOfLight
(No idea for the final game name yet, suggestions are always welcome)
I always liked physic related stuff and wanted to base this game on a physical background, so that the gameplay isn't only challenging and fun, but also kind of educational.
Hope the description isn't getting to physical, but well. The goal of the game is to get as close to the speed of light as possible. However the faster a body moves, the more weight it gains, therefore it will be harder to control and also accelerate less.
You are a negative charged electron that can be controlled on the x-Axis by changing the voltage of the capacitor, that you are flying trough, so in an non physical term, you can change the acceleration that you are experiencing on the x-Axis, while having an constant force applied on the y-Axis.
On your way of getting towards speed of light you have to dodge atoms. Although there are different sizes of atoms, it would still be somewhat boring and there are always several game with the same principle.
So to get things exciting, those atoms can also be Isotopes, so to speak can have a charge on there own. As the electron is negative charged, it gets effected by the Isotopes, and either gets pushed away or attracted by the atoms.
This Post should explain the basic concept of the game, if you like it, please share your ideas with me, I will try to update as often as possible, explain what I do, provide screenshots and so on.
Also I will maybe make the code public on github and share test builds with you guys, so that you can get a rough what it is all about.
Still have a great day!
