Did you know that you can summon The Eternal Dragon during a match, in Dragon Ball FighterZ? Well, you can, and it's fricking epic!
As you can guess, summoning the dragon is a true game changer and can only be done once per match once all 7 dragon balls have been collected.
How to Summon Shenron (The Eternal Dragon)
There is actually a shenron tutorial in the practice section of the game, so that you can master dragon ball collection the same as you can master combos.
Essentially, you get dragon balls based on the number of consecutive hits you land. You also get dragon balls for landing supers with the Square button attack ( playstation).
Honestly, just press light attack to finish a combo, and if you do that 7 times --wala, but there is another way! You can also perform combos based on the number of hits to determine which dragon ball you get. 10-20 hit? Ball 1. 20-30? Ball 2. And on and on.
Once you've collected 7 dragon balls (which you share with your opponent, warning!) you need to do the light attack combo one more time with 7 ki gauges and Shenron will be summoned!
You get 4 possible wishes when you summon Shenron: 1 - restore my health (restores your characters health to 100%), Bring back my ally (brings back ally from the dead), Make Me Immortal ( your blue life is constantly recovering), Give Me The Ultimate Power (you get a second spark).
If you skimmed everything and are only reading this sentence, spam square for 7 combos in a row and pick a wish.
EXTRA TIP
Crouching Heavy - Invincible To Airborne Attacks
So, here I am, getting the snot kicked out of me by a guy that seems to know how to counter every attack that I throw at him, which get's me thinking (insert john snow gif in dbz) (can have a John Snow segment of the day? ) I should probably look up how to counter attacks, so I did.
The first thing that I found...well, the most important thing, is that there is one move that is "invulnerable" to air attacks. That means, if your opponent is coming at your with a dragon rush, or a dive attack, it's getting thrown back in their face. Now, I know this works, because I experienced the a** kicking firsthand, but I'll also be the first to say that it's not exactly the easiest thing to pull off. Much like the rest of DBFZ, it's all about timing. Being low and in a defensive position has already given you the edge, now you just need to time that "invincible" attack. Press heavy once your opponent is launched in the air to chase after them with a combo.▶️ DTube
