Warhammer40k: Mechanicus is another one in line of games in an ever expanding Warhammer 40,000 universe. This is the first time we will experience the mad universe of WH40k from Adeptus Mechanicus perspective, essentially an army of robotic humans who gave their life for Omnissiah, a machine god. There is never a lack of some awesome new perspective in new Warhammer games, there are very few screenshots released right now, this one below is one of the rare ones, and it looks very nice.
We mostly have the trailer and an information that this will be a turn based tactical game where you will lead your squad of tech priests and uncover buried knowledge and technologies on a newly found world of Silva Tenebris. Your squad will slowly be losing the weakness of the flesh and later on they will be able to upgrade themselves with bionic, or mechanic limbs with all sorts of weapons attached. Expect this game later this year.
Nice review. Is this the same Warhammer franchise that came out in the late 80s, or early 90s as a Dungeon & Dragons type game, but set in the future with flying warships, etc?
I remember playing that for a few months and then switching back to D&D. Was fun for a while.

There are two Warhammers, fantasy and SF, in SF one, or Warhammer40k, there are orks with guns :) It is a very long lasting franchise, it started as a miniature wargame in 1987 and slowly but surely it is conquering the world of gaming and SF alike. This universe has more depth than Star Wars and Star Trek combined.

I prefer warhammer fantasy so I'm loving the Total War games, but I quite like the mechanicus in the 40k world. I'd like to try a turn based tactical game based on Warhammer, something like Xcom in the amazing world of Warhammer.
