Relieving and exciting, of course, see a change of 180 degrees SEGA related franchise semi open-world flagship them - Yakuza. Once in the previous generation, you can feel reluctance to release it to the Western market for reasons that are not clear, SEGA slowly but surely, begin to understand the potential sales they miss so far. Supported by the popularity of the Playstation 4 which showed no signs of dimming, SEGA even began to mix some series of remakes with the name "Kiwami" for new gamers who want to jump and get to know the franchise that has existed for a dozen years. For Western gamers, this month is special. Opportunity to enjoy the latest series - Yakuza 6: The Song of Life finally arrives.
First impression
There are many things that make Yakuza 6: The Song of Life into a special series, compared to previous Yakuza series, such as Yakuza 0 though. This is the first series designed by SEGA specifically for the latest generation platform, where it is built using a new engine called Dragon Engine. The presence of this engine makes the quality of cinematic game visualization at the beginning of this series increasingly ends charming, especially for the details of the face. With so many famous Japanese actors playing there, see how the game is able to blend similar facial details, right down to the skin texture and eye color inviting clicking awe on its own. But do not get there, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life also opens a wider world to explore, especially the opportunity to enter and explore some iconic locations. A bout by involving more NPCs in one screen with a crumbling environment also strengthens the cooler action atmosphere here.
But like the previous Yakuza series, the main strength lies in its powerful story. For the umpteenth time, Kiryu's attempt to get out of the criminal organization that had made her involved in the fight against the mafia from Korea and China has never succeeded. Like a black hole that absorbs all the light around, Kiryu again has to engage in a conflict that he never really wants. What's interesting here is the whole theme that is more relevant to what we feel right now. When the Yakuza series previously took the theme of the 1980s and 1990s are counted "obsolete". Yakuza 6 takes the setting in 2016. So all the modern technology and side missions that also contain critics of human social phenomena are now more highlighted, making Kiryu's older point of view more interesting and inviting laughter. One of the points that we think makes the Yakuza 6 special.
While waiting for a more proportional time to review, let alone remember the sideline variety, the meta games, and also the stories we have not finished yet, let us throw a bunch of fresh screenshots from the oven below to help you get a little clearer picture of what a Yakuza 6 : The Song of Life. One thing for sure, it seems difficult for Yakuza fans not to fall in love in this one series.
Nice and clear presentation!
