The concerts started earlier this week and continue until November 30th. No purchase is required and he will perform multiple songs from his new album as well. It is not at a specific time like other games have tried to engage with their communities so players can log in at any time during that time to watch. Unsurprisingly, they have linked the event to some other in games features.
The concert event will be tied to water type Pokemon given the serenades he will provide. There will also be a rare spawn of Squirtle wearing sunglasses that they are calling Froakie. If players are not lucky enough to encounter one, they may appear when you complete Field Research tasks so no need to leave it to randomness. Interesting how Niantic continues to push the envelope across the community!
