This was every gamer dream, a way to make money while playing the game they love and also a way to purchase more games an addition to their collection already, due to the development of various technologies, it’s no longer a wonder but rather a reality.
Gamer are now able to earn money by doing what they love, it can be selling of game items, selling of game account that most have been upgraded to a high level that would take a newbie lot of time to archive it, one of the way to improve fast is by purchasing another user account, well this is solely on trust, hoping both parties would come to agreement or participating in tournament/competition. With the introduction of Esports, more and more price are won from gaming each month or years depending on the game developers.
Recently, news about Fornite putting a large amount of money as a means of competition prize was seen and the number of players increased over night, well who don’t want a few extra bucks?
Epic Games announced today that it will provide $100 million in prize pool money for Fortnite competitions in the first year of competitive play, an eye-popping figure that puts the game at the upper echelon of e-sports with regard to monetary prizes. Official Fortnite competitions are slated to start some time later this year, though little else is known about what shape these tournaments will take. Source
Well this was not the case few years back and even if Esport been around for quite some time many were yet to be enlightened and hence gamers kept dreaming about a means to make money while gaming, me am no exception.
Still recall it like it was yesterday, it felt too good to be true, a game that paid players in crypto-currency, satoshi to be precise, yes there are games that have been developed before now that players could earn certain amount of crypto money by simply inviting other users using their ref code or by logging in daily and achieving certain amount of required points.
Now unlike ref programs, or trial apps were users are able to earn by inviting other users or trying out apps, this app actually paid it players in satoshi simply by achieving a required point and the money will be transferred to your wallet once a week automatically after reaching the desired date.
Looking at it, feels a little similar to the way the steem blockchain operates, users earnings are automatically withdraw or transferred to their wallet after a period of 7 days, then you have the option to either sell out or keep accumulating.
Same process was applied here then.
I remember how I played all day trying to beat my new scores and achieving more and more points, nothing beats the feeling of knowing you are going to be rewarded upon completion of what you love doing and I must say I was really impressed with the game, I could earn satoshi by just by playing and completing certain objectives.
Each new level became more and more hard as you progress and certain amount of time is given daily for you to complete the objective.
Failure to do so, meant you had to claim were you stopped on that day and hope you had better luck the next day.
Unlike most apps that came with ads ingame were you could get more trials simply by watching few videos this was totally different and this option was not available, it was a fair system were each user had a specific amount of times in which they are allowed to play before the game shows game over and which is automatically unlocked the next day.
Now, for a game to be developed in such a way, it means gaming as we know have a lot to offer and not just your pay to win type of game.
The name of the game is Alien Run
It was/is developed by bitcoin aliens and yes it’s a runner game, were users run at different level and stages invading different obstacles along your path, the beginning is just your basic and as you advance further the game becomes more and more complicated, with the addition of different level which would probably take more than one trial to understand that level.
Personally, I think it was the first of its kind which brought an incentive were a gamer could spend more than an hour playing knowing fully well that there is a reward at the end of the tunnel, unlike most games were you spend 5hrs or more playing and only to achieve a tired and hungry body, alien run, made gaming more fun were players could spend hours and earn in satoshi.
Back then the price of BTC was not this high and if you had discovered much earlier, you would found out you earned a reasoning amount of money now.
But as usual when the demand is high, supply becomes low. With time the rewards started dropping down, from the amount you could earn by inviting other users to play to the amount you could earn upon completing certain level. With the price money that low, the interest to play the game was no longer available and hence I totally forgot about the game until today.
In other for you to claim the reward then, you had to provide your email and a supported btc wallet address, were you earnings would be transferred to automatically upon reaching certain amount of money/points.
I was opportune to withdraw certain amount then say close to 40k satoshi give or take but the whole idea of crypto was still new and fresh to me, hence I stopped participating in the game and even though the game is still available, the incentive to play is no longer available. As little or nothing can be earned anymore, probably the developers no longer around or the project probably have been stopped.
But it was a good project and still a good project for those willing to try it out.
The game name is Alien run and its and android mobile based game, so it can be downloaded from google play store by searching on the name Alien run.
Hope you find it interesting and good luck till some other time.
