Dragon Age Origins: An Outdated Review

in gaming •  8 years ago

Dragon Age Origins is a multiplayer RPG game, it is a game from there in 2009 (rather old?) Developed by the company BioWare for Microsoft, it is this same company that develops titles like Mass Effect.

I am from the generation of video games, but I do not say that very little I played with toys, always since very small I was surrounded by consoles, games in the pc, although for a long time I was a nintendo boy with the passing of the years I put my eyes on the pc, so I've been a gamer for a long time and I know what I'm talking about.

Without fear of being short Dragon Age Origins is a work of art, is a game quite old in terms of graphics we refer, but this is not a game to be played for its graphic quality, that over there in 2009 was not the best , Titles like Battlefield at that time were much superior graphically.

in Dragon Age Oringis we incarnate to a gray guard, whose mission is to stop at all costs "the ruin" that dawns Ferelden, to achieve its mission it will need to unify Ferelden who is in the middle of the civil war to face "The Ruin" and In this way to avoid that the Archdemonio next to its dark creatures obtain their mission.

As I mentioned Dragon Age Origins is a RPG, but it is not the typical RPG where you go to a forest to kill monsters to level up quickly and thus get to the "boss" end kill it and re-play it, neither is it Like Diablo I, II, III that are great games by the way, what I want to say is that it is not in that drawer of typical RPG

Of Course  DAO (Dragon Age Oringins) is a Fantasy game, but not so much, it has the typical factions to choose at the beginning (man, elf, dwarf) but with different nuances that alter the story, for example if you are a dwarf you can be a Dwarf plebeian or a dwarf of royalty, a similar rule is painted with the other playable factions, and like all role play there are magicians, rogues and warriors with their different specializations that we will get while we play.

DAO highlights us for that, it stands out for the important thing in a role-playing game, the history and its personages. In the time where I first met the game was impressed by the way in which arming the character and choose his ethnic BackGround changed aspects very important in history.

The way in which BioWare managed to make the players sympathize with the characters, to the point of suffering (literal) if something happens to them is simply a genius, other is not to say that everything that happens in the game is in our control , That is to say if I go to a mission in such city and I take that and such a decision as the mission takes place we will see the impact that it has on the game, on our characters and as other characters see us.

Something simply mind-blowing and very rare in today's video game industry. The maps are stunning, they do not stand out for the big, nor for the vast plains stand out for the amount of history and content that exist in them.

DAO is not a game for casual gamers, it is a game for lovers of epic stories well worked, a lover of works of art, it is a game that I recommend and although by this time I would already be "working" in Dragon Age 4, it is A game that is worth acquiring and playing because if you do not know, whatever we decide on Dragon Age Oringis can affect the following games and so on.

Final game rating

It is a game that stands out for its soundtrack that is perfectly coupled with the situations that are going to be living in the game, without doubt a very good sounding band can make a total difference in game of this style.

The gameplay can be a problem for those who like the speed and do not enjoy the board-type matches that leave you feeling that the combat is developed in turns, although this point may be a little bit in the time that came out The game (2009) was quite acceptable.

The characters that we will find if they make a big difference in the game, so I hope you can save them all.

Talking about graphics quality is not a game that has great "quality" graphics, it is quite decent although we will not be surprised by epic graphics, these are not its strengths.

The story, I will only recommend you play it when you have free time, when everything you have to do this and you can sit and enjoy this game, it is not a linear game, it is a game to get hooked and discover all its secrets.

PS: The game has a single expansion campaign called "wake up" and several DLC (downloadable content) can be purchased by Origins (Virtual store) I do not know how much it is worth today, but I assure you that all the content of the game It's totally worth it and it's a real gem

Hi Pedro, I just read your review and I have to say that I agree with you.

Especially with the fact about playing during your free time.
With reference to my own experience with the game, the story will draw you in as part of the story and makes you lose track of time.

I'm not ashamed to say that I have played and replayed the game at least 4 times. Still, no matter how many times I go through, it gets me emotional. Much like how Final Fantasy VII impacted me several years before.

That aside, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your view.

I understand perfectly what you feel, i have played and replayed that game many times, and always en up emotionally involved with the story

i really appreciated that you got to this post thanks for commenting

" The way in which BioWare managed to make the players sympathize with the characters, to the point of suffering (literal) if something happens to them is simply a genius, other is not to say that everything that happens in the game is in our control..."

Here you said it all! Bioware was amazing doing the Dragon Age: Origins. The second one is worst, but you can play it, you like i too.
And i'm in the end of the second one. The hype for Inquisition is starting to growing.
In the future I will make a review about the game!

Cheers!
