Games on my wishlist

in gaming •  4 years ago

I browse Steam sometimes, looking for new games to play and most of the time, they end up on my wishlist, waiting for discounts, or a time where nothing can satisfy me but playing that particular game.

I end up not buying most of the games on this list, mostly because there are few games that I have no doubts about wanting, needing to play. The others seem like fun, but I haven't felt the need yet. They don't yet call to me like the games I'm currently playing. I told myself that those kind of games can only be bought with my designing earnings. I don't earn that much, so I'm pretty picky about what to spend it on.

My self imposed limit is good, because by now, my Steam wishlist is a big mess with 72 games on it. I mean, that is a little much, right? Hubby only has like 5 or 6 on there... Yet I just can't get myself to clean it up too much, because I might miss a sale during a very, very rare spending mood.

I'm looking at it now and there's a couple of games sticking out above the rest:

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles

Yonder is an open world adventure game with a cartoon world to explore and crafting to do. This game seems like such a calm and relaxing game! No big and scary monsters or difficult dungeons to run. Just running around, gathering, crafting, fishing and enjoying the scenery. What better way to relax during a rainy afternoon?

A Hat in Time

This game is a 3D Platformer. An adventure game in a cute, cartoonish style. Very vibrant colors too, which just makes it look like all kinds of fun. I'm a little worried about it though, because it seems to be the same kind of game as Yooka-Laylee, which I own, tried and never played again, because the camera movements made me nauseous.

Tunic

Alright, so this game has been in my wishlist for ages and it hasn't been released yet. I doubt it ever will. It's an action / adventure game and you're basically exploring the world as a little fox. I added it to my list, because it looked super cute and back then, I was really excited about it. By now, I'm not removing it, because I wonder whether it'll ever get released, but I'm not sure I even want it anymore. It still is cute though.

Medieval Dynasty

An open world, medieval, building and survival game. Just my kinda game! It looks awesome too! I was about ready to buy it, until I found out there is no third person camera option. I actually haven't kept up with the updates, but as long as there is no third person camera option (that I know of), I won't be buying this game. I hate playing in first player (and am very sad about it in this particular case). I'm hoping they will add third person view in the future.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

So this cute battle royale game was quite a hit I think. It looks really funny and chaotic, but I haven't decided yet if I like battle royale. If I decide I do (or could), this is definitely the game to try! It's on my list so I don't miss out on any discounts while I'm in the right kinda mood in the future.

Aven Colony

This game was in one of Humble Bundle's monthly bundles, but seeing as I don't want to commit to a monthly payment thingy, I didn't get it. It was how I found out about this game though and it seems like lots of fun. I enjoy a nice base building and simulation game and who doesn't want to build a colony out in space? It just doesn't seem like enough fun for the full price, so I'm waiting to see what kind of deals they might offer in the future.

Biomutant

This game will be released on the 25th of may. It's an RPG in a post-apocalyptic world and I've added it mostly because the graphics seem amazing! I would love to explore this world and am curious to see how other gamers feel about it.

This latest game in my wishlist found its place there because of @acidyo's post about it. It seems to basically be a Pokemon alternative and I've always enjoyed playing the Pokemon games. Having a game like it on the PC is very interesting to me. It's a little bit of nostalgia! I think I will get this one eventually.

That's it! There's also Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution on there, but I just wasn't sure about them yet. With the base Jurassic World game free a while ago on Epic Games, I guess I can cross that one off. It's a fun way to pass some time, but I don't think I really want any expansions there.

Maybe I should throw out the rest of the games on the list, as I don't see myself buying them any time soon... I just can't bring myself to doing so yet! I need to get into the right kinda mood.

Hubby thinks I should get Planet Zoo. It seems like fun, but it also seems like too big of a game for me to learn right now. I need more time to think about that one.

The one game I am desperately waiting for is New World. Amazon's MMO game. The release date has been pushed back to august and I do hope they won't push it back further. I played the alpha/beta/whatever it was and really enjoyed it. Hubby and I haven't had a game to play together for a while now and this will be the one!

How about you?

  • Do you know/play any of these games and would you recommend them?
  • What game is on the top of your wishlist?

I enjoyed games very much, i spend leisure time by reading books or playing games.

Playinge game is just waste of time as i think.

I guess it depends on what you enjoy doing in life and what your hobbies are. Personally, I really enjoy it and I even found my husband while online gaming :-)

What do you think of the game market as a whole? Doesn't it seem like the market is getting a tad over saturated? There must be 100,000 indie game developers these days.
