Pioneer and Vega Strike Game Review

Hello Steemian and gamer, in this time I will review these two game with difference, equation, and my interested things about these two games. In previous post, I had post about two space game review named Endless Sky and Naev Game Review. Pioneer

Pioneer is a space adventure game set in our galaxy at the turn of the 31st century.The game is open-ended, and you are free to eke out whatever kind of space-faring existence you can think of. Look for fame or fortune by exploring the millions of star systems. Turn to a life of crime as a pirate, smuggler or bounty hunter. Forge and break alliances with the various factions fighting for power, freedom or self-determination. The universe is whatever you make of it.

In this game, you can collect money by completing any mission, kill fugitive/bounty or suspect, buy ships, bring cargo into another place, explore any systems and planets freely, even to be pirate with consequences. You start with Harmless Combat Rating and with 0 Reputation.You start on 1 January 3200. Many part of this game data using lua scripting.  Also, this game data can be edited using Notepad++ software.

This game have many factions :

1. Solar Federation
2. Commonwealth of Independent World
3. Haber Corporation
4. and hundreds of minor factions

This game are available on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux and licensed under GNU General Public License v3.0.

Vega Strike

Vega Strike is an Open Source 3D Action-Space-Sim that lets you trade, fight, and explore in a vast universe.
Vega Strike is built on top of OpenGL and runs on Win/Lin/Mac platforms. Vega Strike (the game) is currently in a playable state, but both game engine and dataset are under continued development.

This game you have to collect money by completing missions, upgrade your ships, encounter alien race, battle against foe (faction), explore new systems, beat the pirate and foe, etc.. I not ever editing this file because almost all file of this game are seems compiled.

This game have several factions :

1. Interstellar Socialist Organization (ISO)
2. Confederation of Inhabited Worlds (Confed)
3. Aera
4. Rlaan Assembly
5. and other factions

This game are available on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux and licensed Under GNU General Public License v2.0.

Difference :

1. Pioneer or also known as Pioneer Space Sim licensed under GNU General Public License v3.0 and artwork, music, sound are licensed under CC-BY-SA. Whereas Vega Strike game is licensed under GNU General Public License v2.0 and sound and music are under GNU GPL license.
2. Pioneer use Gregorian Calendar and starts at 1 January 3200. Whereas in Vega Strike use their own time system which time format is 0.0000:001 which started at 0.0000:000.
3. Pioneer is in stable release and development is still active right now. Whereas in Vega Strike there is still 0.5.1 r1 version from 2013 and now the development is inactive, so I ever experienced Vega Strike game  force closed where I want to jump into Pandey system, or other.
4. Pioneer use Dollar ($) in-game currency. Whereas Vega Strike use credits as currency.
5. A reputation system in Vega Strike is reputation per faction. Whereas in Pioneer there are no reputation per faction, only reputation for player.
6. Pioneer is a clone of Frontier Elite then create their own artworks, music, and sound for this game. Whereas Vega Strike is created under Vega Strike Engine and build indirectly inspired from Elite.

Equation :

1. These two games are open source and free to download.
2. These game graphics are 3D.
3. These genre of two games are sci-fi (Science Fiction).
4. In these two games, the character is your ships.

My Interested Things :

1. I very like the soundtrack of Vega Strike because this soundtrack is good and open source too. I also like Pioneer Soundtrack too. I ever played these soundtrack on Audiosurf.
2. I also like artwork of Vega Strike Ship which also used in Naev and Nox Imperii Game.
3. I ever edit the file of Pioneer for fun.
