Got one of these strange but wonderful little computers on a trip to Rochester when I was a kit. Loved it! It worked so poorly, but when it did work it was a dream come true. I learned basic on it. Loved it! It still looks super cool and not bad for $99 on sale at the time.

The Timex Sinclair 1000 was the first computer produced by Timex Sinclair, a joint venture between Timex Corporation and Sinclair Research.

The Timex Sinclair 1000 is the North American version of the Sinclair ZX-81, from British based Sinclair Research Ltd. They are nearly identical, except for the name on the front, and minor motherboard layout differences.

Awesome! What were the specs. Was it for gaming? Matrox was big then!

Mine was a PC with Pentium 2 propably and with Riva TNT2.

Nice! That would have done Quake nicely!

I still remember DOOMed nights...

What a game it was. I bought a new pc just to be able to play it. So good!
