Building GAMING PC (What to know before building)

in gaming •  6 years ago

With todays tehnology, gaming looks really good. Every year games look more realistic for better experience. But it comes with a cost. Latest games demand more power of your Gaming RIG (Computer). To take out everything from Hardware. But do you actually use up everything your computer can provide?

The most discussable thing on this topic is processor. People say the better the processor, the better performance, but do you actually take out everything from latest Intel i7 series?
The answer is - YES.
Benchmarks and monitoring says otherwise? -NO
Why no? because from my experience, i've been upgrading computer just to gain more FPS and while trying to save money since 2008 year. And everytime i watch reviews and everything, which computer part is the best for gaming for a reasonable price, I have to upgrade computer next year. Most of that is graphics card.
Every year a new series of graphics cards show up (except GTX 1000 series, which is taking a second year, but cards are still really good). And everytime they are about 30-50% better than previous series. Not only better by performance, but in lower power consumption also, because of their upgraded and smaller Litography (nm).

So i said to myself: THAT'S IT! I'm tired of this trying saving a money for middle models series GPUs and CPUs...
I'm going to build myself a BEAST. NO MATTER THE COST. 5YEARS AHEAD OF GAMING. (See computer in the photos below)

My advice for building BEAST is mostly for GPUs:

What is better: 2x GTX 1070 SLI or just one 1080 Ti???
The answer is 1080 Ti. Why? Even those two cards have a slight better performance.
BUT NOT ALWAYS. There are some games that do not support SLI mode. just like latest NFS Payback or AC Origins. And game runs only on one graphics card.
Second thing is space in your PC case(mine is full tower, so whateva). which automaticly makes them both hotter on temps. (additional 10-15celsius is added for top card mostly)

And let's not forget the processor which is best. In my opinion latest i5 of todays series is really good. But if you don't want to upgrade your processor in a few years, so take i7 series.

In a few sentences: The more you are willing to spend on your gaming PC, the more time you will enjoy it.

PRICE
When cryptocurrencies will rise again, gamers wont afford a computer. Miners will buy every graphics card again, so prices will rise multiple times again.
AMD is cheaper than Intel and Nvidia. But most users complain about their performance, because on specifications they look like beasts, But do not perform how they have to.

AMD vs Intel/Nvidia

I prefer Intel and Nvidia, even though u pay really much for them. But you get the latest technologies like Physx, ambient occlusions etc etc.
AMD has Mantle (its like directx 12), I guess its a big plus. You can have a really good gaming computer with low price with AMD builds. But I dont like their driver crashes, I dont know why i keep always seeing them on other computers i fix. AMD has this isssue...
