Its that time of the month again where we show you 5 of the best games being released next month.

# 3.jpg

So far this year, there have been a fare few good games that are very enjoyable to play. Then there are some, even ones we pegged to be brilliant, did not live up to the hype that was built up before there release. However next month looks like it will remedy this with some awesome triple A games coming out.

So here are 5 of the best games coming this May 2018.

5 – Detroit Become Human. - May 25th.

PS4 Exclusive

  • I have heard and seen a few trailers for this game over the past year or so, and the trailers look absolutely stunning.
The problem with trailers though, is that they don't give us an accurate depiction of the actual gameplay or the what the game will look like, often being pre rendered with the highest quality possible that is beyond what the platform is capable of. But I digress.
This game is set in the future where androids start to have feelings and emotions. It looks as though it is more of a story based game (and we all know how much I love my story based games) with some mature narratives to contend with as well.
While recently most of the focus for a PS4 exclusive has been God of War, which delivered and then some, this game has not had as much attention, yet it could still surprise us all by being just as good in its story driven gameplay, mechanics and graphics while keeping us engaged enough for it to be enjoyable. That's what I am hoping any way.

4 – Daemonical. – May 2018.

PC Only

  • This looks to be a very interesting indie title that puts a new twist on the typical teen horror movie style of game. Basically, the trailer scared the poo right out of me.
It is already available for early access on Steam and it is well worth the wait for the full release at some point during May. No official date has been given, but it is going to be May.
The game is centred around a group of 5 people that are stranded on an island that has a demonic presence, and the characters start to question each others loyalty. I don't want to give too much away, but if you do like jump scares and a very story driven narrative, then this is definitely the game for you. Think of slender man meets resident evil 7 with a touch of a dead island vibe.
Considering this is an Indie title, I am overly impressed by the amount of detail that has gone into the game, more so with the character and facial animations. And the rest of the game... it just looks as though it was developed by a triple A development studio.
Wait for the full game, and with any luck, it will give a whole new meaning to survival horror.

3 – Conan Exiles. - May 8th.

PC, Xbox One, PS4

  • The original Age Of Conan was a brilliant MMORPG that was set in the same world as the 1982 film. Exiles looks to improve on that same concept and expand it to an absolutely huge level and crammed full of content.
From vast deserts, to forests, to overly populated cities, to oasis's to the mountains, even the underworld and now to the frozen north, you can guarantee that this world is one of the biggest open world games we have seen in a while. Looking at the trailer you also get to fight everything from giant acid spitting snakes, giants, stone creatures, knights, titans, and a whole slew of enemies. The graphics all look to have massively improved over the original Age of Conan game with some extra detail put into the environment. And it looks fucking stunning. I know MMORPGs are becoming less popular thanks to the rise of battle arena type games, but despite that, I can see the servers being crammed for this game for some time after its release.
Unlike other RPG's, this one has a much bigger emphasis on survival, by not only battling to survive, but build up your very own castle/fortress that can also survive being in battle.
Available for early access on steam, go ahead and try it out.

2 – State of Decay 2. - 22nd May.

PC, Xbox One.

  • I have previously talked about State of Decay 2 before after an E3 trailer last year. But regardless, now that there is a trailer showcasing the in game footage, I can honestly say that this is one of those ''Zombie'' games that wont piss you off after 5 minutes of play time.
Zombie games are usually hit or miss. More miss than anything. But there are few that do stand out, and this looks to be one of them. Yes it is still a horror survival game, but the survival part has been taken to a whole other level. You have to try and scavenge just about everything you need in order to survive. Think of Fall out 4's scavenging on steroids and you will get an idea of what I mean.
The devs have also added in some 4 player co op game play, so you and 3 of your mates can all play and accomplish goals that you couldn't do if you were by your lonesome, or even with just 2. it adds an all new dynamic that Zombie games desperately needed.
While the graphics are nothing to write home about, everything else in the game seems to be on point with a lot more detail added everywhere else.

1 – Forgotten Anne. - 15th May.

PC, Xbox One, PS4.

  • I put this at number one because I absolutely love the art style in this game and it kind of reminded of some animated games from the 80's with a little bit of Broken Sword in there too.
Square Enix have thought outside of the box with this one. So far they made a game that is almost entirely hand animated. The look and feel of the game is very reminiscent of 60's and 70's Disney cartoon movies. Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, but with an anime twist to it and a dash of steam punk for good measure.
The game is based around a female protagonist called Anne, and is based in a world where everyday objects can come to life and where forgotten objects end up. You have to find your way home, solving puzzles along the way and uncover 'forgotlings' mysteries and use magic to enable you to progress further home.
I just cant get enough of the art style this game has. It is truly unique. Even though it is made and published by a high end company, it has that typical Indie vibe that gamers everywhere love. And I think this game will be something truly special and those gamers who like Indie games will fall in love with this one too.

Detroit Become Human sounds really exciting! I also love story-based games, have you tried playing Telltale's Game of Thrones or The Walking dead? Best story-telling games in my opinion. : )
