Project Stray - Illumination

in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

I am setup to take more screenshots of things I am working on. Today my focus is on getting any last minute details and meshes in place for the hub level. A big part of this is making sure I have some visible light fixtures in the game.

These are to provide lighting with some kind of context within the game. A lot of games will have light that seemingly comes from nowhere. But I try to avoid that as much as possible, I only use standard point lights when faking the effects of radiosity or bouncing light.

The lights are setup in a hierarchy class system that will allow for them to be interactive with the player or environment. For now they are simple static lights.

I am going to try and be more active on here. The goal will be to get at least a couple good posts a day showing things off and talking about them. Please upvote and follow as it will have a big effect on me in the coming days. :)

You definitely have that creepy Doom3 kind of lighting going. I dig it!
