Today's post is entirely designed to generate SBD to donate to Awesome Games Done Quick. Although I usually write about science, I'm a passionate gamer and I love the semi-annual Games Done Quick events. Every six months, dedicated video game speedrunners gather together to beat games as quickly as possible. They stream these performances online and collect money for charity while doing so. For the winter AGDQ events (awesome games done quick), they donate all proceeds to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The event officially started today. Right now they're beating Yooka-Laylee in under half an hour:
For those who missed it, this was a great run. Well executed and the runner had to dive into the options to disable Vsync at one point to achieve a trick. Definitely a cool moment when he pulled it off.
I usually donate to these events, but I want to maximize my donation this year. Since Steem is doing fantastic lately, I'm seeing how well I can generate SBD to donate to the cause. I will pledge all of the SBD gained by this post to AGDQ.
Now those familiar with the event will know that it ends in 6 days and this post will not payout for seven days. I'm aware of this as well, so I intend to donate based on the expected payout around day 5 or 6. Donations can go towards various challenges/choices for the speedrunners so I welcome any comments suggesting what I donate towards.
