The Mierce faction, led by King Ceowulf
From the capital city of Tamworth, the king of Mercia ruled the area now known as the Midlands. At its peak, Mierce stretches from Northumbria in the north of England to Kent, Sussex and Wessex to the south. In 877 AD, the Great Humanitarian Army seized the eastern part of the empire to form the Danelaw, or East Engle.
