What is Shovel Knight?
Shovel Knight is a action platforming game it was developed by Yacht Club Games, and was first released on June 26 2016.
Story
You play as a knight who wields a shovel as a weapon, who is known as Shovel knight. Shovel Knight is on a quest to defeat the Enchantress.
This the world map this is how you travel from one level to another.
Gameplay
In each you can find an item to help you get through the stage more easily. At the end of each stage you have to fight a knight corresponding to that stage's theme.
You can either hit enemies with your shovel, or you can use your shovel to bounce on top of the enemy.
Presentation
It is clear that this game was heavily inspired by retro side scrolling platformers just by the way it looks, and sounds. Which is one of its many strengths.
Final Thoughts
I love game because it uses an old formula in today's industry. In fact if it wasn't Shovel Knight we would not be having a resurgence of the platforming genera. If you really like these games, or just want to relive the old days of gaming, I really recommend that you give this game a try. Shovel Knight is for everyone platform for the price of $15.
