Xbox’s E3 press conference was closed out with the gameplay reveal of Anthem, the new IP from BioWare and EA coming in 2018.
Anthem is a shared-world shooter, not unlike Bungie and Activision’s Destiny. The key difference here is that Anthem is a third person Action RPG, and looks to feature up to four player cooperative play versus Destiny’s standard three player (raids excluded).
Instead of Guardians, players are Freelancers who don exosuits known as Javelins. These Javelins have different abilities that act as classes of sort. A balanced Ranger was shown, as well as a tank like Colossus.
Anthem features an open world that you can explore with your friends flying through the air with a jetpack and even swimming underwater. There’s even world events with massive enemies.

Anthem is slated for a release sometime in 2018 for PC, Xbox, and PS4.
