Don't go hatching your eggs until you have read this article! It isn't all random chance! Different Pokémon hatch depending on how far you have traveled with them. Thanks to the folks at Serebii, we now know the distance needed for each Pokémon egg. For example, you can randomly receive a Charmander or a Geodude at only 2km, but at 10km you can get a Omanyte, Lapras, or even a Hitmonlee.
The intervals for hatching are 2km, 5km, and 10km, each increment unlocking potentially more powerful Pokémon. Because your phone needs to be on to track how far you have traveled, it is a good idea to switch Pokémon Go into battery saver mode in settings. This will darken your screen, but still track movement and alert you to Pokéstops and nearby Pokémon.
Are you ready to hatch the perfect Pokémon? Below is the distance required in order to hatch each possible Pokémon in Pokémon Go:
- 2km Distance Eggs
- 5km Distance Eggs
- 10km Distance Eggs
