EA originals
EA has set up a system to help find and fund indie game developers and bring their games to the mainstream (we need this for steem.) Here are the games that are being worked on:
A Way Out:
A co-op prison break game. How cool is that. You play as two prisoners who seem to grow closer as they work together to make their way out from behind bars. You can play the game online but it is also has split-screen co-op so you and a friend/partner can go through the story together. I have some great memories of split screen co-op games like splinter cell and there is something about working with someone to play through a mission that is a great experience. Glad to see couch co-op is still going. The interesting part is is HAS to be played with someone. The story cannot be played by itself. There is always someone online if you need it though. From the footage they showed, there was a scene where one guy was free to move while the other was in a cut scene, suggesting it really is two unique stories/characters that are working together. The story also continues when you escape prison. Maybe I will give my friend a call when it comes out. Relaase date is early 2018
Star Wars Battlefront 2
They had storm troopers on stage so that was awesome. Guess what this game is adding, an offline story mode. Yep, definitely the EA theme this year. The story will actually be a part of the Star Wars timeline. It will take place between Return of The Jedi and The Force Awakens. There wil lbe characters from the moveis and be a stand alone story like Rogue One. And more couch co-op! There will be more heroes, planets and customization for multiplayer and you will have content from all eras of the franchise. They showed some multipalyer gameplay, Assault on Theed, 20 vs 20, where two teams compete against each other. Big battles with a lot of players bring a lot of gravity to multiplayer but can be frustrating when you, as one person, can only do so much to make a difference in the battle (and anyone who gets put in a room with bad palyers knows how frustrating it can be). The gameplay mode was a three stage battle where, if you are on offence, you have to capture a point to move to the next area. And I'm assuming if the defense shuts them down the game ends at the first phase. One of the players crashed his airship in a tower, so you know it was live :p. It is cool to see storm troopers battling on the ground while other players are controlling space ships over the battlefield.
