I had some potatoes that had begun sprouting in the pantry, snd since they were putting in so much effort trying to grow, I cut them up and stuck them in a big old pot filled with dirt out on my deck. They are growing nicely, and I'll let you know in the fall if I have anything to harvest! I feel like quite the farmer!

For success you'll need to keep adding soil as the greens get higher. Look up "hilling potatoes". I made the mistake of not leaving enough room in my pot so I didn't get the bounty I should've. Good luck to you!

I planted them with the pot half full of dirt and just yesterday added another 4 inches. I've still got room for a bit more when the fresh dirt settles a bit. My grandpa taught me well! Thanks for the good luck wishes!
