Summer garden in the heat

Our garden finally gave up. After so many months of drought and incredible heat.

It hardly rained this summer. Maybe once, twice or three times. But it rained in such a way that after the rain stopped, the ground dried very quickly and it looked as if it had not rained at all.

And yet, the plants somehow managed to survive. Some even thrived.

Of course, the cultivated flowers long ago faded and died. Their lifespan is already short. (Like anything man-made. Well, not everything. Because I have an example from the garden of something cultivated by humans that is difficult to control and keep within tolerable limits, let alone kill.)

But the remaining plants - wild plants and weeds - remained alive and flourished for quite a long period of time.

The ones I'm showing you here are herbs we left to thrive in one particular place in the back yard.

This is or cats' favorite place, but I insisted to preserve them not only because of them.
It was because of the bees and the numerous kinds of pollinators and other insects that inhabited or just visited it.

It was a real pleasure to watch them all flying and circling around, gathering pollen or just eating I really admire the ability of some animals and insects (isn’t this just an ability of all of them, actually?) to eat constantly.

I particularly wanted that this big wild plant with blue flowers remains preserved. It seemed to really be the favorite spot of numerous insects – a large variety of bees, pollinating flies and butterflies.

It was a very beautiful, so unusual blue-blooming plant that I liked very much.

Today, almost nothing is left of its flowers and its beauty.
Totally natural, considering the intense heat, and yet, so unexpected.

So, everything is so sad now, although so natural…

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

It's a pity.
In Germany it is restricted to give water to one own's plants in the garden. So there began the same process of drying.

Your first photo expresses this situation very good. The others do alike but the first one succeeds most, in my eyes. Because the background seems to be dangerous to the bloom.

What do you mean by "it is restricted to give water to one own plants in the garden"?
That sounds terrible. Why?

It is forbidden to give water to your plants especially lawns outside the house. The water is on a rationed basis dedicated for drinking only.

Wow, that sounds like Bulgaria 30 years ago :)
That's not funny, I know.

The flowers are beautiful, both blue and yellow colors. It's sad that the intense heat makes the flowers disappear. I do hope that the flowers will become alive again soonest possible. So, you can admire their beauty again.

I kind of now, after a few days, think it has more to do with their lifespan than with the heat. There is not a single flower left on the blue plant at the moment. It's a dry big thing now. And it was hot all summer. Why exactly now?

Ah! That's so sad! The weather around the world presently changes so much. It rains almost every day in Thailand now due to storm and our people in many area suffer from flood.

Yes, this is it. I was thinking for some time now, that we have to be grateful that we have no floods at the moment. Because wherever it starts to rain in the country, there are hailstones and floods right now. It's terrible.

I wish everything would be alright and the world would be a livable world as before.... Stay safe and healthy!

You too! Thank you!
Have a beautiful weekend!

Many thanks for your kind wish. Have a wonderful weekend!
