I have a pretty significant aphid infestation on a couple of my pepper plants (Pasilla and serrano), but the aphids haven't spread yet to the other pepper beds in my garden.
To get started, you can use a hose to literally hose them off the plant. A simple method to deter them is to use soapy water on the plants, or something like neem oil that you can find at garden centers.
Long term, companion planting is the best; Plants such as French marigold, dill (herbs in general), sunflower, ect. will attract predators to aphids. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tips! I gave them a good spray down with my hose this morning, and the farmer ant nests freaked out a bit. Maybe I try to follow that up with more-frequent drenching.
I have some marigolds in my garden, I'll try to be a little more deliberate about getting them planted close to my aphid-problem plants.
