Garden and Greenhouse update 15.05.18 UK

in gardening •  7 years ago  (edited)

Well in the UK we seem to have been blessed with another bout of fine weather with clear skies and temperatures in to the 20c+ (68f+) and this has really brought both the garden and the greenhouse on.

Outside in the garden

my little slice of heaven, at the end of my garden

the strawberries carrot and peas have made a big push

the apple trees have started to blossom
This apple tree fell victim so an over zealous child climbing through the gap to retrieve a ball and snapped a branch, i'm pleased to see i caught it early enough and taped it up and that its managed to heal itself and it looking more healthier than ever
weeding done onto planting some beetroot and radishes in a gap

In the greenhouse

this has been great with us managing to get a daily harvest of salad leaves but the sharp increase in heat has seem many of the plants go to seed so these will be removed and composted if we cant use them and back filled with the last of the chili plants to go in marigolds and herbs.

The salad is bolting

Salad removed and filled with pepper, marigolds and herbs

This was repeated thorugh out the greenhouse beds

We did have a brief intermission for a cat that my daughter has befriended no idea who it belongs to but its only a kitten and seem super loving, it did get a bit too at home in the much to my daughters amusment of its limbo escapades under the irrigation system…

Another great thing to see is who wils the grape vine is going this year its becoming a bit of a beast but has started to set at least 10+ bunches of grapes that i can see

There is still a fair few things i haven't shown yet my gooseberries, red currants, raspberries, cherry trees and more apples etc ill try to remember to include them into my next update.

It looks like your garden and greenhouse are doing pretty well. I like the way you have your watering pipes set up in the greenhouse over your growing beds, that looks pretty stable with the slots in the boards for the pipe.
You should use "greenhouse" as one of your tags on your posts about the greenhouse. I'd like to see that tag get more popular.

@amberyooper thank you its doing ok, not as well as i would of hoped but the weather has caused problems hopefully itll get back on track. Ill deffinatly use the greenhouse tag next time as id like to see that get more popular to.
