My passion for agriculture began as an 8-year-old child. At that time I lived in a rural area of large-scale land. My father and my grandparents were country people, they knew very well the processes of original planting.

The work of agriculture was to prepare the land for planting, we planted corn, manioc, pumpkin, tomatoes, peppers, different vegetables and vegetables, today I want to share with you all the manual process that we carried out with my grandmother and my mother in planting "cauliflower". This procedure is called an organic procedure because no fertilizer or pesticide is used. Only hangover or cow dung.

The origin of the "cauliflower" is "Asia". This vegetable is known before the "fourth century" although this vegetable is known and sown almost everywhere in the world is very involved in the plantations of all "Asia", the main producers are "India, China, Italy and France"

There are different varieties of "Cauliflower", these are differentiated by their form of presentation, their seasonality or origin, such as "Italian cauliflower, Dutch, spherical, flattened, Fremont, snowball" As we can see there are different types of cauliflower today we will see the most traditional.

The work to plant the "Cauliflower" is very simple, it has five fundamental steps, to clean the earth, to remove the earth, to fertilize the earth, to plant and to transplant, it is fundamental the preparation of the land for the success of the harvest.

The work begins by cleaning very well the surface to be planted, in this procedure removes all the yuyo or the grass with a hoe of hand, as we see in the image

Once the soil has been cleaned, the whole weed must be raked and removed. After the weed has been removed, the next step is to remove the soil from a depth of 30 centimeters or the top of a spade. That the earth is soft and can develop without problem the root of the plant of the "Cauliflower"

The next job is to fertilize the soil, fertilizer is mixed with the soil, here we use cow dung and hangover, the hangover is achieved in the forest, the leaves and sticks that fall to the ground are disseminated and Are mixed with the earth, this mixture of sticks, grass and black soil is what we call a hangover, others use garbage previously buried and scattered in the earth, once the surface has been fertilized, the earth must be raked again to leave the surface Smooth, as we see in the image.

Once matched to the ground, we are in a position to prepare our soul, we pull a few strands to form the rectangle 2 meters long by 70 centimeters wide, is where we are going to plant our seed of "Cauliflower", see the image.

Once the soul is made, we are ready to start planting. The "Colifor" proliferates from its own seed, if you live in a cold zone you start planting at the end of the strong frosts and beginning of spring, if your zone is warm begins at the beginning of autumn one seed is planted per hole with A separation of 15 centimeters between each hole until covering the length and width of our soul,

At three weeks of planting, the plants will start to come out, it is essential to go cleaning maintenance by removing all the weeds, water frequently, the soil must always be moist, but not too much, the plant can not be submerged in water, when The plants have the second bud or 10 cm high we will be able to transplant

Great cauliflower. Let me tell you a story and also the story says how we have different point of view ;) When I was a little girl I loved to eat the raw cauliflower my grandma was screaming "do not eat raw cauliflower because your stomach will hurt you." In Poland people used to like to over-cook vegetables so the raw stuff was for them unhealthy. Strange, I know. I like to eat raw veggies and have never stopped. Thank you for great post. Upvote and resteem

What a fun story, I also like to eat raw vegetables, even taken from the plant, thank you very much dear friend @ margaretwise for this beautiful anecdote and the great support you give to my work
I wish you have a beautiful day

I love cauliflower and use it a lot as a substitute for carbs when following a low carb diet. This is mainly choped finely into rice form with parsley to flavour but I don't notice the difference with a curry or chilli con carne and I feel the benefits straight away. I also feel fully for longer..... great blog!!! Xxx
