My Sunday Garden Surprises, new flowers and gorgeous colours.

in gardening •  7 years ago

We have some Sunday Garden surprises, I have been waiting for my Cottage Garden seed mix, they have took there time blooming. I don't whether I have planted these to late or they are late bloomers, next year I will plant these seeds a little earlier hoping I get blooms a lot earlier. I am getting surprises most days now.

This is the Cottage Garden mix I used. I chose these because they attract butterflies, I haven't seen any yet but have seen lots of bees.

My surprises today are beautiful but don't know what the flowers are called, I know there will be people on here who will come to my aid. These are so pretty, could imagine my garden filled with these.

These are just starting to show there face, I am loving the pink colour, can't wait to see it fully bloomed. I hope all these buds start to open soon.

Another one just starting to bloom is a gorgeous purple, it looks silky, can't wait to meet this gorgeous flower.

The last one is a gorgeous Lilac colour, I love this little flower its very pretty.

I am hoping I can buy these flowers by themselves, I would love to fill a few pots with just these flowers, I think the colours would look lovely together and brighten up my garden.

Thank you @son-of-satire

I can't say if I have ever seen these particular flowers before, but they are gorgeous. Would those seeds grow in the tropics?

I would imagine they would, they need the sun and we don't get that much :)

Nice flower color

Thank you :)

Great idea bringing in the bees and butterflies and beautiful flowers, the three B's of gardening!

Thank you :)

those nice shots thanks for sharing

Thank you :)

WOW, the blue one has finally blossomed !! Those flowers are gorgeous ! Thanks for sharing this beauty with us, karenb54 !

Yay its gorgeous isn't it, would love a garden full of these :)

They look really amazing! The colors are so bright! I think your garden will be full with butterflies really soon!

Thank you, I hope so, I think I may have left them a little late as the weather is changing quickly

A great post @karenb54
Other benefits, such as greening and reducing air pollution is also a sadaqah for the nature of the benefits felt by humankind

Exactly, I am saving the planet :)

They are really nice:)

Thank you :)

The plants are like our children or our pets, you never know when they will surprise you with beautiful and fun, congratulations for the great work you are doing dear friend @ karenb54,
I wish you a beautiful day

I think they know how happy they make me that's why they keep giving me surprises :)

Good idea on figuring out what each flower is in the mix! It looks like you're going to get a lot of 'bang for your buck' on which ones do well in this setting. Great head start on planning next year!

I already know what I am after for next year, just need to find out what these are :)

Your cottage garden is making me sigh.... I love that you fill your area with such pleasant colored blooms.

I am loving all my new blooms, such gorgeous colours :)

Truly are! It's a shabby chic cottage garden in full splendor!

It looks to me like your first flower is some sort of Phacelia, maybe Phacelia tanacetifolia, also known as the Lacy Phacelia or purple tansy -- even though it's not a real tansy. It's a great plant for bees!

The second plant looks like a Pink Borage. How nice! Most borage will self-sow and come back on its own every year, if it has room. The leaf in your 3rd photo looks like a Hollyhock of some sort. It will be exciting to see what the flower looks like when it opens! And the last photo is the Bachelor Buttons, or Cornflower, again. They are such nice meadow plants!

That's a nice collection of meadow plants you've got going now! Happy gardening! :D

Thank you you clever thing, knew someone would help me :) I am definitely going to add more of these next year and plant them earlier than I did this year as I was a little late. I am loving the mead ow look,Thank you so much :)
