Repotting my TPM Crest

[Trichocereus Pachanoi Monstrosa]

This little guy i got with my lophs so i have had him inside and have been treating him like them, but he more so needs to be treated like my outside cacti, as they are trichocereus and so is he, and im worried him being inside might lead to dormancy, also i would like to see him bigger as well :)

Over 3 months he has started to lose a bit of his green, and his pot is little. He would be fine in that pot but not get any bigger, and if its a monstrose i want it MONSTROSE! :D

I've been getting him used to sun as he has been inside, 4 hours a day of soft morning sun then the rest of the day indirect, ready for outside in partial shaded areas, until he gets strong enough to go with the rest of the trichs [theyre so hardy any damage done to them results in more pups/babies lol]

As hes been planted for a few months now, when i unpotted him and shook out his roots i was pretty happy to see a few pups had shot off, he actually had some arms under the soil. Looking very cresty :))

The outside trichs are just in cactus soil but my crest is now in more of a loph mix, a layer of chunkier pumice on the bottom, and soil/perlite 50:50 ratio for good drainage.

Given a good water, sitting outside to get used to the temps whilst being in shade, and as of a week i will move him to partial sun!

I didn't end up getting an after picture as i moved onto the next task [we planted potatoes!] but ill post progress pics as he goes :)

GROW BABY GROW!
