Hibiscus rosa-sinensis

in gardening •  4 years ago

In downtown sections at sidewalk corners are sometimes found Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Flowering all summer, in bright red, crimson, orange, yellow, or white, are bushes or small woody trees with lush green foliage too.

If you see one you’d like in public, it might be difficult to look up its name, as there are over 1,000 named varieties.

H. rosa-sinensis is not found in the wild, but is thought to have originated in tropical Asia.
